Hartwell

Hartwell offers great shopping and wonderful and unique restaurants. If you are looking for fun entertainment, the Hart County Community Theatre offers four performances each year and the Arts Center, has monthly art shows and offers various classes. Make plans to visit the Bluegrass Express on Saturday evening or go the Depot Restaurant to hear piano playing every Friday and Saturday night. Both businesses are located on Depot St. in downtown Hartwell.

Downtown festivals in Hartwell include Dancin' on Depot, the ARTS in hARTwell Festival, Cars & Guitars Under the Stars, the Pre 4th Extravaganza, the Depot Day Fall Festival, the Home for the Holidays Festival and many more.

Hartwell Downtown Development Authority & Mainstreet Program

The Hartwell Downtown Development Authority/Main Street Program oversees a twelve block downtown area which includes the historic business district and the city center. Many of Historic Downtown Hartwell's attractive buildings were constructed from1879 to 1925, adding to the overall charm of the city, and county seat for Hart County. Hartwell has been an accredited DCA 'Main Street' City since 1997.

Hart County Chamber of Commerce

The Hart County Chamber Office is located next to the First Baptist Church of Hartwell at 31 E. Howell St. in Hartwell. Originally the Teasley-Holland House, this home was built in 1881. The Hart County Historical Museum is also located in this same building and has a modest collection of furniture, clothing, documents, photographs and other artifacts relating to the history of Hart County.

The Chamber Office is open Monday through Friday. Hours are 8:30a.m.-5p.m.
