One of the Southeast's largest lakes, Lake Hartwell covers 56,000 acres at normal pool (660 feet mean sea level) and offers a variety of outdoor recreation opportunities, including swimming, picnicking, camping, fishing and boating along its 962 miles of shore line. Interpretive center is a great stop for kids and families. Enjoy a panoramic view of Lake Hartwell and the Savannah River from atop the dam. Open year round for fishing, the new multi-purpose Gum Branch Recreation and Tournament Facility will provide greater access to the large supply of Bream, Crappie, Bass and Catfish.
