This lower millage rate is 28% less than the millage rate five years ago and is a critical sales tool to continue to entice businesses to locate to Hart County.
Healthcare is a priority to Hart County. The Hart County Hospital includes an intensive care unit, sub-acute care unit, out-patient surgery and emergency facilities open 24 hours a day. The hospital recently updated the facility with a new surgical center. The $5.5 million project included a 14,000 square foot addition and renovating 4,000 square feet of existing space. The ER includes new treatment rooms as well as new surgical operating suites with several procedure rooms.
Meet others while getting involved with The Art Center in Hartwell. Classes in painting, pottery, dance and writing are offered. A long-time favorite of the community is the Hart County Community Theatre. The Theatre offers social, cultural and artistic expression opportunities. The Hart County Community Theatre presents three plays a year. The Savannah River Production Company also produces four plays a year and these are performed at the 700 seat Lonnie Burns Performing Fine Arts Center.
