SUMMARY:CANCELED: Christmas Parade
DESCRIPTION:After careful consultation with city officials and the Hart County Board of Commissioners and out of concern for the safety and well-being of our citizens\, participants\, and volunteers\, the Hart County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors has made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Hartwell/Hart County Christmas Parade scheduled for Sunday\, December 13\, 2020. \n\n\n\nFollowing increased and overwhelming concerns about the COVID-19 virus\, seeing a continuing surge in the number of positive cases and hospitalizations\, the board agreed that hosting a parade is not the safest and wisest way to proceed during such an unprecedented situation. Our board is very disappointed that we are unable to hold this event\, but we know it is the right decision based on the information we have today. All paid participants will be refunded their registration fees.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIt's a Hartwell tradition! Bring your friends and family and join us for our annual Christmas parade! Prizes will be given for float with the best interpretation of the theme: 'Christmas Movies'\n\n\n\nParade Registration Packet\n\n\n\nYou can register by mailing the registration packet or stopping by our office: 10 S. Carolina Street (next to Common Ground)\n\nYour registration WILL NOT be complete until we have received a signed copy of the waiver for your float. Registrants are responsible for all participants on their float and it is their responsibility to get a signed copy of the waiver from each participant.\n\n\n\n**Changes for 2020** \n\nNo candy will be thrown from floats this year to minimize the risk of spreading germs. \n\nThe parade route will start at Hart Co. High School and go down Franklin Street ending at Bell's Shopping Center on Athens Street.\n\nMasks are recommended for participants and spectators.
