DESCRIPTION:******** COURSE/RUN CHANGES for 2026 ********\n\nThe Hart County Running Club has announced significant course and distance changes for this year's\n\nevent. Due to upcoming floodgate maintenance by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers\, the top of the dam\n\nand adjacent roads will be closed periodically throughout 2026. As a result\, the course has been modified\n\nand will not cross the dam or access Highway 29.\n\nThis year's run will be limited to a 4K run/walk\, and the 10K option will not be offered.\n\nWe appreciate your understanding and hope these temporary adjustments will not discourage your\n\nparticipation. You can still expect a beautiful lakeside route and a great race experience!\n\n\n\nOne of the oldest races in Georgia\, the Lake Hartwell Dam Run 5K/10K offers a spectacular run across the Lake Hartwell Dam.  This is one of those races that needs to be done so you can mark it off your bucket list.  The race is hosted by the Hart County Running Club and the Hartwell Lions Club.  Proceeds go to the Hart County High School Cross Country and Track Teams
