SUMMARY:Vintage Rail Car Event/ Scavenger Hunt
DESCRIPTION:On October 6th-7th\, the town of Bowersville will welcome the NARCOA vintage rail cars back to their town for the fifth year. These unique cars first made their way to Bowersville in 2013 and have returned every year since\, with the exception of 2016.\n\nNARCOA\, North American Railcar Operators Association\, is a group dedicated to the preservation of railroad equipment historically used for the maintenance of the railroad.\n\n\n\nNARCOA members operate their privately owned railroad motorcars on railroads throughout the United States and Canada during railroad-sanctioned NARCOA excursions. On this particular trip\, Bowersville serves as the hub for their Northeast Georgia excursion.\n\nOn Saturday\, the group will leave Bowersville at approximately 8am and travel the railroad to Toccoa. On their way back from Toccoa\, they will stop off in Lavonia for lunch\, then a rest stop back in Bowersville\, before heading the other direction on the track to Elberton. They will turn around in Elberton and wrap up the day around 6pm when they head back into Bowersville. On Sunday\, the group will repeat the Toccoa trip before departing Bowersville for home around late afternoon.\n\nWe invite the public to come out and welcome this group to our lovely area.\n\nWe have also rescheduled the scavenger hunt\, that was initially planned for September 15th\, for this same Saturday\, October 6th. We welcome anyone to join us for this fun\, exciting game. You may register your group of five by calling 706-680-8008 or emailing bowersvillespecialevents@gmail.com. We also encourage you to have a theme for your group or wear your zaniest costumes. Prizes will be awarded for the winning team and for best costumes.\n\nIn addition to the other events of the day\, Banks BBQ of Bowersville will be serving BBQ all day on Saturday.
