May 10, Thursday, Fundraiser & Adoption Event from 3:00 – 7:00 pm at Tractor Supply Hartwell, 15451 Anderson Hwy.  Come meet and greet the rescue volunteers from Hart County Animal Rescue and their available dogs.  Donate pet supplies or purchase cookies, baked goods, dog treats or bottled water for this fundraiser.  Drop off location:  Hartwell Keller Williams Office, 270 W. Howell St., Hartwell, between 8:00 am – 1:00 pm Monday – Friday or the day of the event.

AUGUST

August 11-12, Wet ‘n Wild Weekend, at Long Point Recreation Area (Old Hwy. 29), Hartwell. The Pro Watercross Racing Event runs from 10 am to 4 pm both days.  Come out to see Watercross racing’s biggest event before the finals.  Competitors come from all over the nation competing at speeds up to 90 miles per hour.  Freestyle stunt shows every day at noon.. Hang out with the racers and get autographs. December 9, Sunday, Christmas Parade at 4:00 pm.  Line up starts at 3:00 pm at the corner of Athens St. and Hwy. 51 in the Bells Shopping Center.  Best overall interpretation of the parade theme wins $100 in Our Town Gift Certificates.  Parade route goes down Franklin St. to the Middle School.  Registration for participants is $15.00.  Deadline for registration is December 9th at noon.    Call, email or come by the Chamber office for more information.
