• Grit & Grace: Women Shaping Stronger Communities

On March 19th, something truly special happened in Hartwell.

The very first Hart County Women in Business event, hosted by the Hart County Chamber of Commerce and Hart County IBA, brought together an inspiring group of women from across the community for a morning filled with connection, encouragement, and meaningful conversation.

From the moment the event began, there was an undeniable sense of support in the room. Women from all walks of life gathered not just to network, but to genuinely uplift one another, sharing stories, experiences, and the realities of their personal and professional journeys. It was a powerful reminder that in sisterhood, none of us are alone.

A heartfelt thank you goes to Leslie McFarlin, Vice President of Economic Development at North Georgia Technical College, for delivering a message that truly resonated. Leslie shared her personal journey and challenged attendees to be mindful of the labels we place on ourselves and others. Her words encouraged women to embrace their differences, support one another, and lead with intention both in life and in the workplace.

Her message didn’t just stay at the podium. It sparked conversations all around the room. Attendees reflected on the women who had lifted them up along the way, shared their own stories, and even took time to write letters to their future selves. New friendships were formed, captured with selfies that will serve as lasting reminders of a meaningful day.

This event was made possible not only by thoughtful planning, but by the many hands that helped bring it to life, from preparing flower arrangements to setting the table with simple touches like punch and refreshments. Every detail contributed to an atmosphere that felt welcoming, genuine, and full of heart.

Due to overwhelming positive feedback, this is only the beginning. The Hart County Women in Business event will be back soon, continuing to create space for connection, growth, and support among women in our community.

Stay tuned. This movement is just getting started. 💖
