Leadership Hart is designed to bring community members together to grow individually and collectively to make a difference in Hart County and beyond.
The curriculum is designed and taught by The JW Fanning Institute for Leadership Development at the University of Georgia and emphasizes the concept of leadership through community action and engagement. Shifting from a reliance on a small group of traditional leaders, communities accept the responsibility of leading together to bring about change and to support common goals.
The curriculum provides tools to explore the complexities of community leadership development and the many ways it can develop, from basic networking to building a community collaborative. Participants learn about their individual leadership styles and how to engage others in leading change around real community issues.
The Leadership Hart program consists of an eight-month curriculum; you will meet one day each month beginning in September. The curriculum includes a leadership retreat at the beginning of the program on September 3rd; community activities; reading; and small-group discussions. Tuition is $350.
Applications are a competitive process and are due July 23rd. Selected participants will be notified by August 1st.
