You’re thinking about hosting a Business After Hours — a great way to bring new people through your doors and promote what you do. Here’s everything you need to know.
WHAT IS A BUSINESS AFTER HOURS?
A monthly networking event held on the first Tuesday from 5:30 – 7:00 PM.
You host it at your business. People come to connect, check out your space, and learn more about what you offer.
Each one is a little different depending on the host — food, drinks, and door prizes are common.
WHY HOST?
Hosting helps you:
• Get new people into your space
• Promote your brand
• Be featured on our website, newsletter, calendar, and Facebook
• Make connections and potential sales
• Grow your visibility in the community
WHAT THE CHAMBER PROVIDES
We will:
• Invite our Board, Ambassadors, members, and the public
• Promote your event online and in our newsletter
• Provide registration, nametags, and a way to collect guest contact info
• Introduce you at the event
• Give you a flyer to help spread the word
WHAT YOU NEED TO DO
• Fill out the After-Hours Registration Form
• Email us your logo, any info you want on the flyer, and an optional photo (high-res .png or .jpg preferred)
• Once the event is live on Facebook, we’ll add you as a co-host — we encourage you to share updates, prizes, photos, etc.
COST TO HOST
It’s free for Chamber members.
You handle any food, drinks, or prizes you want to provide.
We recommend offering a door prize — we’ll draw a winner from business cards we collect.
TIPS FOR A GREAT EVENT
• You can keep it simple, or make it your own. Some ideas:
• Give a short welcome when introduced
• Offer snacks or drinks
• Do a drawing or giveaway
• Play music or decorate your space
• Invite your customers and staff to attend
DEADLINES
Events must be scheduled at least 90 days in advance and confirmed with the staff within 45 days of the event.
Dates are already set and can’t be changed, unless it’s a holiday
